What is a Toastmasters Education Program?

Toastmasters’ core curriculum is Pathways. It's a flexible, online, print-friendly program that helps members build communication and leadership competencies.

Why meet at lunchtime?

Nairobi Toastmasters promises to deliver an on-time, productive lunch hour.

What will I gain professionally if I join a Toastmasters Club?

Joining Nairobi Toastmasters builds clear public-speaking habits, sharpens impromptu thinking, and strengthens practical leadership skills. These competencies improve workplace presentations, team management, and professional confidence.

Do I need experience to join?

No. Toastmasters welcomes complete beginners and experienced speakers. You learn at your own pace through supportive, self-paced, beginner-friendly communication projects tailored to your skill level.

As a member, how often do I give a speech?

Most members deliver a prepared speech about once a month, or roughly once every two to three meetings, depending on your personal growth target.

Will I get guidance on my chosen education pathway?

Yes. You'll be paired with a mentor who helps you choose your Pathway and track your progress. Nairobi Toastmasters is a supportive community ready to help you grow.

How do I pay my membership fees?

Besides the physical meetings, do you also offer online meetings?

We offer both options to give you flexibility. Join us in person, follow us live on Instagram, or join us online via Zoom.

Do I need any public speaking experience to visit?

No. Guests of every experience level are welcome. Many members join with no prior public-speaking or leadership experience at all.

How do I become a member?

Visit at least one meeting, then submit a Membership Enquiry from the Membership page. A Toastmasters officer will follow up with next steps and the application form.

Is there a fee for visiting as a guest?

Yes, we charge a guest fee of KES 300.

How much does membership cost?

Membership has a one-time new-member fee plus semi-annual dues. The one-time new-member fee is KES 3,375, plus a 6-month membership fee of KES 12,000 or an annual fee of KES 24,000.

What should I wear?

Business casual is typical, but there is no strict dress code. Come as you are.
